Attention Stance

Heels together, hands at sides.

Disciplinary stance

Natural Stance

Feet shoulder width apart, arms relaxed at side.

Disciplinary stance

Rest Stance

Feet shoulder width apart, hands clasped behind back

Disciplinary stance

Horse Stance

Feet outside shoulder width, knees bent, hands at side bent, fists in at waist, knees out over ankles.

Disciplinary and training stance
A 50-50 weight ratio

Meditating Stance

Horse stance, arms chest level, elbows bent, left hand over right fist in salute position.

Disciplinary stance

Neutral Bow

Natural stance, drop leg back, feet at 45 degrees, front toe parallel to rear heel, front arm out at 90 degrees in front of face, rear arm in close covering midsection.

Using forward weapon

Forward Bow

From a Neutral Bow, turn rear foot to face front, rear foot flat, rear leg straight, front knee bent. Should not be ale to see front toes.

Using rear weapon

Reverse Bow

Forward Bow, turn head to look backwards.

Transitionary stance for rear strike or defense from forward bow.

Cat Stance

From neutral bow turn rear leg out at 90 degree from front.  Drag front foot back towards heel of rear foot.  Only ball of front foot on ground.

Has an 90-10 weight ratio

Kneel

From neutral or forward Bow, bend knee and shift in at 45 degrees and stay up on ball of foot with kneel or lead leg.

Used in shifting during strikes and locking opponents legs

Crane

From neutral bow turn rear leg out at 90 degree from front while doing an inward outward parry.  Bending front knee up bringing bottom of lead foot to rest on rear knee.  Hands remain out in hooking position.
